Jonathan Pritchard
Jonathan Pritchard is a Professor of Biology and Genetics at Stanford University. His work focuses on understanding genetic and phenotypic variation and evolution. His group has developed methods for using genetic data to study population structure, history and natural selection. A second major focus is on studying how genetic variants impact phenotypic traits, both at the cellular and whole-organism levels, with a particular emphasis on gene regulation. Pritchard grew up in England and in the US. He studied at Penn State, Stanford, and Oxford before starting his first faculty job at the University of Chicago in 2001. He returned to Stanford in 2013. He has also been an Investigator of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute since 2008.
