Patricia J Wittkopp Society for Molecular Biology and Evolution Conference 2016

Patricia J Wittkopp

Dr. Patricia Wittkopp is an Arthur F. Thurnau Professor in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology, and the Honors Program at the University of Michigan. She received her doctorate in Genetics from the University of Wisconsin and was a Damon Runyon Cancer Research Postdoctoral Fellow at Cornell University. Her research focuses on the genetic and molecular mechanisms responsible for evolutionary change with an emphasis on the evolution of gene expression, and uses both fruit flies and budding yeast as model systems. This work has been supported by the National Institutes of Health, National Science Foundation, March of Dimes, and the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation
