Ann-Christin Honnen
I am interested in the effects of artificial light at night on mosquitoes, focussing on Culex pipiens as study species. To obtain insights on potential effects I look at several levels: daily activity, fecundity but also gene expression. Changes in gene expression are evaluated on the genomic level using the transcriptome (RNAseq) but also on target genes, the circadian clock genes.
