Thijs J.G. Ettema
Thijs Ettema (born 1977, The Netherlands) is an evolutionary biologist at Uppsala University with a strong focus on microbial diversity and evolution, and the origin of complex life. His research group develops and employs novel genomics strategies to explore the vastly uncharacterized microbial diversity in order to delineate the boundaries of life and to explain the origin and early evolution of eukaryotes.
