Bastien Boussau

Bastien Boussau is a CNRS researcher in the Bioinformatics, Phylogeny and Evolutionary Genomics team in the LBBE laboratory in Lyon, France. He works on statistical methods to study genome evolution and reconstruct gene and species phylogenies. He has notably worked on branch-heterogeneous models of sequence evolution, models of gene transfer, duplication and loss, and incomplete lineage sorting. In the process, he got involved in the development of several software packages, including Bio++ and RevBayes. He recently started new projects to investigate convergent evolution in animals and viral genome evolution.
